The safety record of CF Industries’ Spencer Terminal certainly stands out. STAR status in the Iowa Occupational Safety and Health Administration Voluntary Protection Program since 2002 [Safety: CF Industries]. Environmentally safe operations. And, now, 15,000 consecutive safe days operation – more than forty one straight years of safe days.

The milestone was marked at a ceremony in Spencer on July 14 that included past and present Spencer Terminal employees, CF executives and members of the Spencer community.

“CF Industries has always demonstrated a strong commitment to safety and we promote safety in our facility every day,” said Mark Feldman, Superintendent of the Spencer Terminal. “Each of us at the terminal knows that it is our responsibility to make safety a priority in our everyday work.  Zero lost time incidents for 15,000 days is a tribute to the safety focus that current and past employees have brought to work every day, and an accomplishment that we are very proud of.”

The Spencer Terminal, which distributes more than 55,000 tons annually, or approximately 2,500 trucks, of anhydrous ammonia to customers in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota, is the eighth CF facility to reach the 15,000 safe days milestone, which occurred on February 4, 2016.
