Lindsey Hudson joined CF’s Woodward Nitrogen Complex in 2015 as an accountant after finishing her Master’s Degree, and soon found that she was where she was supposed to be. In her own words, here’s how she describes working at CF.

Tell me about your current position and responsibilities

I am an Accountant at CF’s Woodward complex in which I am minimally supervised by the Accounting manager. My responsibilities vary from preparing journal entries for month end close, to creating management and financial reports for the plant and corporate accounting, to reconciling general ledger accounts, to tracking capital projects and maintenance of fixed asset sub ledger, and to playing my part in the preparation of the annual operating budget. At Woodward, the Accounting department rotates responsibilities when appropriate in order to keep our minds fresh by having something different coming at us every day.

What do you enjoy most about your current position?

What I enjoy the very most about my current position is the unlimited opportunities for growth, both in knowledge and responsibility, in which CF is unmatched with an outstanding support team that exemplifies the “Do It Right” motto. I am challenged daily to be the best that I can be throughout my professional career as an Accountant.

What sets CF apart?

In Woodward, Oklahoma, CF Industries is known as one of the best places to work because of the people, job-security, benefits and pay, and the overall work. CF Woodward is a strong organization where all personnel are quick to lend a helping hand in times of need.

What's it like to work for CF?  How would you describe the culture today?

I am surrounded by such an encouraging and helpful Accounting staff that couldn’t be more supportive in the work that we perform together every day. We are a very small, close-knit group that not only cares about each other’s work success, but our lives outside of work as well. As a new hire, the entire CF Woodward complex has been very welcoming and I knew from the beginning that this is where I am supposed to be. It’s a great feeling when you can be yourself around your colleagues and really have fun at work.

What skills learned in college have positioned you for success at CF?

CF provides a place to put my knowledge into action. It has been a great place to transition from my college studies to real-life circumstances. The skills I have learned during the beginning stages of my career at CF are immense and will provide me with an unforgettable Accounting basis which I will be able to utilize throughout the entirety of my career. CF challenges me to learn something new each and every day, which is one of the greatest assets I believe CF has to offer in the ever-changing accounting environment. The knowledge I have gained and will gain at CF is immeasurable - to the contribution of personal accomplishments as well as to the future of the CF Accounting group.
